Do you love yourself?

Mar 03, 2020

Until you learn to love yourself you will struggle to love others and will almost certainly not be able to maximize your potential. When I was listening to this song on my run today I started to think about it in terms of talking to myself rather than another person as the writer intended. I feel that this is an even more powerful statement when put in this context.

So I ask you, do you love yourself?

Bitter or Better

Feb 04, 2020

When things don't go our way we have a choice: We can be bitter, or we can be better!

When we remain bitter we are harboring resentment for the past. This could be against a person or an act, either way it will eat away at us. This resentment will prevent us from moving toward a better future as it is taking up valuable real estate in our mind that should be used by positive thoughts.

A mentor of mind describes this best when he says that resentment leads to resistance which in turn leads to revenge. I have taken time to review this in my own life and I realize that I was still harboring resentment and when I released this it felt good. Will it come back from time to time? Of course it will but I now have the awareness of the damage it does so I can release it more easily.

Learn to forgive and you will be able to use that space in your mindset to birth good things. Now is the time to move forward with your life and let the past go.

Are you ready to accept the challenge?

Strength Zone

Sep 25, 2019

All employees should be working within their strength zone so why is it that so many organizations fail to recognize this fact?

We all have strengths, areas of opportunities, and weaknesses. There are multiple assessments available on the market that identify these and often these are used during retreats or off-site team building events but when we get back to the workplace they usually find their way to the desk drawer, never to be seen again, so what was the point? Whether it is Myers-Briggs, Strength finders, True colors, DISC, or any of the other popular assessments, they are only as good as the follow up and action that follows the results.

When you think about your own strengths, how much time do you spend daily working in that zone? For most people I would estimate that it is less than 50% of your day and I guarantee that you would be far more productive if this figure was 80-100%, would you agree?

When you are working on tasks that use your strengths you feel happier and...
